K Keng House

About the project

Every room in this house turns toward a central court, with a long swimming pool and one large tree. Outside we kept to a plain gable roof, a breeze-block fence and white walls cut with square windows of different sizes, so the house stays closed to the street and open to its own garden.

The living and dining room is a double-height hall lit from a skylight above, running on to the kitchen and a marble stair. Inside we used pale wood, curved walls and rattan doors, so that an all-white house doesn’t feel too hard.
